Well, maybe somebody will find this interesting. The on-the-fly patches should work on wii, vwii from hbc and wii vc directly just fine to install any title you'd like, so its basically as clean as you can get in terms of needing any cIOS. Really though the reason I built this just was cause I wanted to be able to easily install and uninstall channels to test in the wii vc channel booter without having to grab a wiimote every time So for people that want to mod vwii and dont even have a wiimote, you could for example inject this into a wii vc title and then install my open homebrew channel branch wad and afterwards build a wii vc title that just contains a forwarder to the open homebrew channel using my wii vc channel booter. You can get a ready-to-use file right over here. Your newly installed apps should appear 2023 Nintendo Homebrew. The end result should look something like this: Load the Wii Menu and open the Homebrew Channel. Extract any homebrew apps to the WiiSDSync folder. small corrections in how the root path is selected (having no "wad" folder now correctly displays on device root) On Windows, this can easily be done by pasting the folder path into the Start Menu, Windows Explorer, or Run. support for classic controller, wiiu pro controller (on both wii and vwii) and wiiu gamepad (in wii vc mode) added on-the-fly IOS patches when AHBPROT is disabled, so no cIOS is required in those cases updated to be compiled in the latest devkitppc, libogc versions We are a homebrew network, not a warez network of any kind.So for some reason I felt like modding YAWMM (a wii wad manager) myself a bit and this is the result.Ĭhanges from the last YAWMM googlecode version: That is illegal, and stands against what we are trying to be. Note 2: We will never, under no circumstance, ever host or distribute WiiWare or Virtual Console. UPDATE: OSC is now a part of RiiConnect24 and is no longer an independent service. (No, it’s not released yet, we plan to release on WSC’s Shutdown day.) Our GitHub Organisation is OpenShopChannel, that contains all our open source software and a lot of what we’ve discovered about WSC. If you want to learn about our projects within OSC, check out our website which is oscwii(dot)org to find out more. (Invite Code: by6mR5N ) There are guidelines that your Homebrew need to abide by to make sure we aren’t allowing explicit, legally infringing or offensive software from being published. We are looking for homebrew developers that are interested in having their Homebrew published on The Open Shop Channel, you can contact us by joining our Discord. September/October came about and our SOAP Server was basically ready to go, we finished up modifying the WSC’s DOL, Banner and we are now mainly focusing on finishing the rest of the JS collection and setting up an SQL Database for SOAP Accounts and Homebrew. We could have used Nintendo’s recommendation of AXIS, but we thought it would have been easier to develop a SOAP Server designed specifically to work with the Wii Shop Channel. By August, we were almost done sorting all of the SOAP into it’s own repo on our GitHub Organisation and development on a custom SOAP Server began. After becoming independent, we began collecting and organising the Wii Shop Channel’s JavaScript API into a library we decided to call “WiiCore.js”, after we discovered some very intriguing functions on the WSC’s OSS-Auth pages, we eventually started fishing out most of the SOAP that WSC had hidden within, which would not have been possible without the generous NAND donations from the community. We started as an internal project at Disconnect24 during March 2018, but when the idea and proof of concept that the WSC can be modified to external servers, we separated into our own standalone project in hopes that the project doesn’t become endorsed with other revival services. The team so far consists of (in alphabetical order):Īlright, no actual announcement or GBATemp post about a revival should be complete without our current progress roadmap. We are a group of homebrew enthusiasts that want to provide the easiest way to get homebrew in the safest way possible. With the Wii Shop Channel's closure in 2019 and Homebrew Repo services becoming outdated, The Open Shop Channel's purpose is to give both Homebrew Developers and Users a more comfortable experience for downloading and installing homebrew. OSC will be a patched version of WSC that directs to our services. We’re a replacement of Wii Shop Channel and an alternative to Homebrew Browser. Are we another revival concept going nowhere? Not this time. We are a small team that has been researching the inner workings of the Wii Shop Channel, and we’re now getting closer and closer to transmitting Homebrew over the Wii Shop Channel and rebranding it as The Open Shop Channel. I mean, seriously though, who doesn’t want to browse WSC and it’s cheerfully brainwashing music for Homebrew instead of WiiWare/Virtual Console? That’s where we guys come in. You know what would be cool? Converting your Wii Shop Channel into a more respectable Homebrew Browser.
